The story of the birth of linux

Today we will talk about the development history of IT business and the history of the struggle between them. 1991 has ushered in the era of open source free software. Linus released Linux and posted it on the electronic bulletin board, saying that I recently wrote a small system. Unlike the old man Andrew, our system is subject to change. If someone changed it, you can add any content to it, you just need to give me a feedback on the content you added and tell me what you added. It doesn’t matter if this is the case, it was his ideas that made Linux instantly popular around the world. In the 1980s, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Richard Stallman, launched the software freedom movement. He believed that programs are the crystallization of the thoughts of all human beings, and should not be exclusive to a certain commercial rogue company. Stallman published the famous GNU Manifesto in 1985 (GNU’s Not Unix!) and also developed a lot of famous software, but the irony is that although you are not Unix, you can only run on Unix. So everyone suggested to Stallman that we should develop our own kernel. At that time, he made a promise to everyone that it would be done within 5 years, but the time went to 1990 and still disappeared. When people were losing patience with Stallman, it was not too soon or too late. In the boundless wilderness of time, Linus brought his Linux to the stage, so the meeting between the two was shocking. The two have been perfectly combined since their birth, so Linus sent the kernel when everyone needed it the most, and claimed to follow the GPL agreement.

Linux is just a kernel. In the full sense, the Linux operating system should be called GNU/Linux. Of course, this is also the name that Stallman expects, but everyone only knows Linux, not GNU. Stallman is indignant about this. A chance to tell everyone that this is GNU/Linux. Thanks to those who have contributed to open source, this intricate story is over.
